    Mercury arc rectifier

I think the last time I've seen ceramic bead insulators similar to those was on Kiln 5 & 6 s ignition lances.

    Mercury arc rectifier

Well I've decommissioned a couple of these in the past. Never seen one that could produce AC.  Wont matter if the manual is in German, I can translate it.

    motor inverter

Probably the best course of action.  3 wire start stop configuration like it sounds you have is  common.  Make sure you enter all of the motor data correctly! Failing to do this an you can release the smoke from a motor rather quickly.

    EN13849 Differences between Category B and 1

The feedback will need to be in series through both valves.  I don't know anything else about the architecture of your circuit. Or components used. So I couldn't say.  It could be possible though. Only way to know for sure is to calculate it.

    motor inverter

It depends on how the parameters are set up on the inverter. It'll work just fine with the push buttons wired to the digital inputs.

    EN13849 Differences between Category B and 1

Feedback is to prove that the dump valves have opened and should be monitored in such a way, that if one fails to open when requested the system locks out.  It goes into the diagnostic coverage portion of your safety calculations.

    Choosing a proper CT

You have everything you need there.  Ignore the protection class. They haven't given enough information for you to summat that.

    Earthing and bonding advice needed.

Has that "Earth" wire just been pushed into the ground? This has to be a wind up right?

    Advice needed..

Plus, they are a real boys toy.  Digging holes for the sake of digging holes. Not guilty your honour.

    Alternative to cable clips

Are you talking about the hilti fasteners that used a .22 bullet to fire the anchors into position? If so they are great!  However, similar to a spiking gun, you need a firearms license for them. Just about every site I know of has banned them. Incredibly useful tool, but as you say incredibly...

    New Job!

I still to this day don't think I've ever been as comfortable.  Underneath the cooling fins of a 4MVA transformer, led in the sand underneath finding where oil was leaking from. Nice warm day, relaxing hum. I fell asleep for 2 hours.  I need to keep my hand in on everything UK electrical...

    Voting turn out

@binky I vote, an I don't see why my attitude is the problem. I've voted every time it was available to me. Surely having a party, any party who could be counted on and is worth voting for I'd better.

    New Job!

As a matter of fact it was. Slightly industrial looking CU but non the less compliant.

    New Job!

Something will have gone horribly wrong if not. Oh, an I fit that consumer unit the other week! Needed to so I could let the house.

    Voting turn out

Although I feel a lot more would vote if there was a decent party to vote for.  All of them are now filled with career politicians, all of them lie to make it sound like they are offering what you want, when in reality they neither have the power or ability to follow through.  They are all yes...

    Ursviken

As a member of the TÜV I can tell you without a decent amount of upgrading they will not certifie it as compliment with out a decent amount of upgrading. However, sounds like you have things in hand. Good luck with the project! I quite enjoy breathing new life into machines like this.

    Ursviken

Well the offers there. Along with sidwinder.  My field pg (Siemens laptop) must be 28 - 29 years old now.  Just whatever you do, don't bugger that eprom. I'd also recommend getting software backups now! You can print the code straight to .pdf too. Useful as the laptops that can communicate...

Nice Siemens s5. Good luck finding someone who can deal with the software on those.  If you end up struggling I can help. Unfortunately it'd cost more than a few pints. I also have spares.
