    DIY solar battery storage

There are suitable crimpers available on ebay for £16. The pre-crimped cable is £66. I could then resell as I'm unlikely to use again. However, I'll visit my local electrical shop and factors first, also ask my electrician who I'll need to connect to CU.👍

    DIY solar battery storage

So I've just bought Battery Cable Ring Crimps from ebay. 35mm2. Thinking I can fashion something to crimp them using the bench vice. I see there's a tool that basically punches the connector on.

Just realised that I've ordered the wrong size crimps anyway. Ah well, they may come in handy at some stage. Will have to think again.:(

    DIY solar battery storage

ITS supplied a DC switch to go between the battery and inverter. The cables from the inverter have the correct terminals to connect to the switch. However, the cables from the battery don't (battery to battery connectors supplied) and you have to cut a connector off and crimp round connectors...

    DIY solar battery storage

Looking to install this in our porch and see some immediate problems: The solis hybrid inverter (RAI-3K- 48ES-5G) comes with an Acrel smart meter. Ideally I'd like to mount this in the cupboard that houses the consumer unit and all the solar metering. However, the RS485 cable which plugs between...

    DIY solar battery storage

OMG! My battery and inverter from ITS arrived yesterday. They had advised that delivery would be 7th November and to make sure I was in. It was therefore lucky I was here. Battery came on a pallet and the inverter came on a separate overnight courier. Funny how you get an instant email to...

    Solar advice for a beginner

Wonder if there's a database of installed chargers? I was asked if I had an EV when I enquired to be accepted on Go.

    Solar advice for a beginner

Worth a try. They stressed to me that an EV was required. Anyone on here using it I wonder? If so, were you asked to confirm you have an EV? Seems a ridiculous condition anyway. You're just charging a battery right?!

    Solar advice for a beginner

Hi there I can't comment on the reliability of this setup but would say that they are established names and likely to be as good as other makes. With the warranties, it would seem fine to me. Why don't you price up how much you could buy the equipment for? You'll then see the margin the...

Thanks Gian. :) No, it's an open porch that I built. Won't get hot and the equipment will stay dry.(y)
