    Volts but no Amps

That's what everyone says about EVs in general, you'll never go back once you try one, and I've heard nothing but good about the i3 in particular. Lol, I knew that's what you'd be thinking, typical iPhone user. Lol I totally get what you're saying about the REX, I'll think about it. Is/was...

    Volts but no Amps

Let me start with your last point first, 6'6" and over 20st and you find the i3 roomy. That's incredible, and makes me want one even more now. I message off of my (android) phone, so it's not the same as using a keyboard. I'll figure it out one day. Lol. But thanks for trying to help. (Cue the...

Which brand are you referring to?

Which hybrid inverter for installation by an not MCS certified electrician which works with octopus agile?

Yeh my 6kw inverter only has a max battery charge/discharge rate of 4.8kw, but as I have two of them, I have 9.6kw Max discharge, so that covers all my current (pardon the pun) needs. Thread locked to prevent being hi-jacked (again)

    Solar setup advice please

But a partial charge still degrades the battery though, just not as much, right?

    Volts but no Amps

Sorry John, I can't figure out how you do those little quotes that you do, so my reply will be a bit scruffy. I do want the 120ah battery, as we travel up north quite regular from down south, so I'd like to be able to do that in the i3. I'm blown away that you've had as much range as that...

    Volts but no Amps

    Yeh, currently got a combi..

    Solar setup advice please

You realise each charge is a cycle, so buying smaller batteries that need charging more often will reduce their life. You need to be careful with that, as batteries ain't cheap.

    Solar setup advice please

Not exactly sure what your asking? My system is similar to what you propose, E/W roofs, each has 6.5kw panels on, so 13kw it total. I know they say you can undersize your inverter by 50%, as you're very unlikely to push it to the limit very often, so it's a waste of money, but I think you...

    Volts but no Amps

Oh you had to go and make me jealous didn't you. I absolutely love the i3, everything (almost, no Android Auto) about them. If I was buying with my head, I'd buy the original Hyundai Ionic, it's got amazing spec and an excellent range, but my heart says i3 all the way. Have you had it from...

Which hybrid inverter for installation by an not MCS certified electrician which works with octopus agile?

John, that's really funny, but also very sad, but that girl was clearly destined to end up as she did. Binky, I like your sentiment. I too value education, politeness, and to a huge degree, social skills, to which confidence goes hand in hand. We get our wee man to put our order in at the...

Solar Battery - Where to start?

What equipment do you need for an AC coupled battery?

    Volts but no Amps

I'd love to get myself a nice EV, I really want an i3, but just don't have a spare 20k to get one. I also don't have money for batteries either. Lol

Which hybrid inverter for installation by an not MCS certified electrician which works with octopus agile?

Bloody hell, I unleashed a can of worms there. I have a 4 year old, and I agree with everything both of you said. I'm determined that he's going to be practical.

Solar Battery - Where to start?

I've just put Solis S6 into Google, and a few versions come up, but they all appear to just be string inverters, so they don't deal with batteries. So unfortunately you'll also need a separate piece of kit to charge any batteries you get. It might be worth looking at replacing the inverter...

    Magnum inverter problem

Oh I missed the lead acid bit. Ignore me then.

    Volts but no Amps

So lots of wasted solar potential. I seriously need to get more batteries as this is happening all the time at the moment, and we aren't even in summer yet.

    Magnum inverter problem

My system tells me the state of health of the batteries, does yours have anything like that so you can rule out what Binky said?

Solar Battery - Where to start?

Start by working out how much energy you use a day, and when you use it. So e.g 10kwh a day, 7kwh in the evening, 3kwh during the day. Use this as the minimum size battery you want, so around 10kwh in this example. Then think about if you would like more capacity, to get you through x number...

Solar strings on different elavation levels and number of panels allowed

Hypothetical theory question. If you had all the panels individually wired into a combiner box (as Americans refer to them), so no strings, this would mean output wouldn't be affected from shading etc would it?
