Found this  whilst doing a EICR. Not the lack of markings but its connected up back to front. There did not seem to be any markings saying feed & load.

I cant say 100% from your description but its possible you did something wrong and have welded the switch contacts together.  Try disconnecting the cable from the switch and see if the light is still on. Ensure the circuits off and cables are safe.

I agree,  voltage above that needs marking. If the flat is 25 years  old i doubt  the consumer unit is wood. Rcd protection was needed for  'equipment that may be used outside' at that time, so it depends on  what floor, outside areas etc the flat is on whether this should have been a code ...

The Memshield 2 breakers, although looking different to all others are a standard fitting the same as Wylex, Hager etc but  you should only be fitting the same manufacturers parts in a board so your stuck with being ripped off £75 for a Rcbo pod.

Same here. I had a big smile on my face when i beat a Chubb quote (not difficult i suppose) to fit a 16 cam system with a 6TB hardrive. All the kit came from System Q . I find customers also find the operation of there stuff easy.

Dont have standard deadlocks fitted, make sure there hookbolts as van metal is so thin now a crowbar can bend the deadbolt out

Right rip off with them. After you pay a lot for the exam ( and course if needed) you think you will get sent the card, but no. Your sent a slip of paper that you use to go on line, upload a pic, fill in other details and pay a further  50 odd  pounds ( Can't remember exactly) to get the card.

It annoys me that an "Approved electrician" used to be a grade only obtainable if you had completed JIB apprenticeship. 

Had a date for the 18th edition been set yet ? I had my NIC assessment  this week by a new guy who was quite thorough , he asked if I had Sat a 3rd Amnd course which I had Not, so then quizzed me on plastic consumer units etc.  As I was deemed competent  😄that was good enough.
