    Fxxxxxg polystyrene walls

The gap between polystyrene and brick work behind was a good 3 inches I think. And that didn't look upto much. Nothing lesson learned I spose....get some long arse screws. Definately would of had more chance than piss balling around with curly wurlies and anchors

    Fxxxxxg polystyrene walls

Inside. Was really thin brittle layer of plaster and anything trying to grip either this or polystyrene wasn't gripping. Sometype of decent adhesive surely would of been a better bet

    Fxxxxxg polystyrene walls

I did mate i tried curly wurlys it was just like a real thin skim of brittle plaster and then the polystyrene nothing just seemed to grip it very well and like you know every attempt just makes hole bigger and the positioning of where you can get bracket ends up out of proportions to others

Wall mounted lights small things should of been simple...... the bloody walls had thin skim of plaster which crumbled at touch of it and behind was polystyrene, tried pigs tails, plugs, anchors not one of them gave a good fixing. For fittings not to weighty what do you...

Getting involved with CU change that may not have c.p.c's for circuits?

I asked her if she knew if there was earthing at sockets or lights she said she didn't know. That said though mate I do I have my suspicions she's had other quotes and what motivation is for change. Why else would she bulk at mention of inspection prior to change 🤷‍♂️

Can't say thank you enough to all how have commented alot of good advise been noted....probably saved me a good few blunders. Getting involved with CU change that may not have c.p.c's for circuits?

Agree entirely if makes install safer than as is gotta be a good thing. As for caveat for problems found will defo start adding that to original quotes. Murdoch do you generally always carry out testing before DB change? How far do you go with it If you do?

Getting involved with CU change that may not have c.p.c's for circuits?

Nice 1 for heads up Evans yeah was talking lighting but will advise as to all metal switches etc be replaced if in use. Hopefully her bonding all good and no dramas with that. Do think thorough inspect and test needs carrying out first just to see what's problems might be in there. Although...

EICR classification for no smokes or co2 detection

CO2 noted silly mistake 🙄. In regard to regs not at minute no I can't i haven't found any. That said though if it is the case that there is none stipulating their inclusion I find that very surprising.

EICR classification for no smokes or co2 detection

Evening all Did an EICR today and although install up to a very good standard. The one issue I did note was the lack of any smokes, heat detectors or co2 monitors. It has a gas supply to apartment and it is a communal block. I have checked 18th ed and guide to building regs and they only seem...

    Live pipework

I think your right geoff and thanks for advice. If i had been strict with crippler and proving this incorrectly terminated cpc was indeed my cpc for circuit causing fault I would of had much better chance of identifying it and so where problem originating.
