Okay Thanks, I probably wont bother with wiring directly to the boiler. Though i'll have a look to see if a wireless thermostat works out cheaper than a new timer/thermostat programmer.

I currently have a combi boiler heating system with a timer under the stairs in my lounge, and only have TRV's on the radiators. I am looking to add a thermostat to save some money.
I am wondering if I purchase a timer/thermostat inbuilt can I use that as a direct replacement of the current...
