    ive got my napit assessment on Friday, i had considered niceic but the approved is really expensive, and the thought of having "domestic installer" on the back of the van..uhhh *shudder*.

    with the jib i believe you need your nvq3 + the city and guilds, (thus requiring practical experience) to be graded electrician, and a further 2 years plus your 2391 to be approved. for part p you just need your city and guilds

    well no. i just think you should have your 2391 and some bloody experience before running off and starting a company half C*****.

    i agree with you to a point, and as they say, every days a school day but at the end of the day practical experience with a good electrician can never be replicated with a 5week course and a internet forum.

    its simple, make it have you have to be jib approved to join a scheme. easy as that

    A lot of agency's wont take you on if you haven't got your 2391, if there looking for someone to test the work for them, you will simply be classed an employee you don't submit the sheets yourself (ie, the same company that did the install)

    I was doing a green feeder box for some street lights on a new build estate, thought id do it the easy way, & lay it all down on the ground, and bush / locknut it all up before putting it up in the box, as its easier to work on. so nice length of 4x4 trunking, db, isolator, bulkhead light...
