    Mft calibration prices

Thanks all for the calibration pointers/costs. Personally I do not calibrate mine every year, not these solid state instruments, it is overkill. However, I do check a few times per year via RCD plug reel of T/E etc..keep a log. If you know your instrument well you will detect somethings not...

Can I remove this time switch (meter)?

Ah Interesting... Yes still power 24-7 the only thing that could change is her electricity bill. If she is on a dual tariff (check her bills) then she is getting cheap electricity during part of the day simply by having a clock that is out. If that is the case then her leccy bill will rise a bit...

Can I remove this time switch (meter)?

Its only a time switch...the control wire can be terminated safely without accessing the meter. If the customer is on a peak only tariff then there is no issue removing it. What time did you take the pic 18:00-19:00 or is that clock really out ?;)

I desperately need help! Old fuseboard replaced by an electrician but it keeps tripping and he won't respond!

If you have tried your best to contact him via WApp, letter email etc detailing the urgency of your vulnerable mother and you get no reply. Get someone else in ASAP (even if they are not registered) He/she could bypass the tripping RCD (if the issue cannot be found quickly) to avoid further...

Catch 22 Confused, Need a straight answer. NAPIT Requirements for Self Employed / Sole Trader

In a Nutshell New consumer unit, extra wiring in a bathroom or a new circuit is notifiable under Part P. Part P can be left with the householder, to apply (even retrospectively) at their cost. Thus you don't have to. I do not have an NVQ and when I rejoined last year NAPIT made a big thing of...

    "Badged" consumer units .....

Nanny state fear, and some manufacturers instructions? sigh .........question things, then make a professional judgement. I have only experienced the majority of melted CBs that were badly fitted from new, same make. If it fits okay then dolly mix, to a better quality if poss. As for...

How should I gland this swa?

Doesnt anyone use...... Self Amalgam tape anymore? easier than heatshrink......secure it with a worm/hose clip, razor wire , yellow stickers and write RA if you want When working with SWA and outside light fittings not designed to take a cable bigger than a gnats needle , just tape up the end...

    Working with other sparks

You may feel better if you were to look elsewhere even if there is nothing immediately available, it would lessen the frustration........ you will be doing something positive. I have experienced the same but now do not EXPECT people to be like me, a grafter. I just keep my head down and ignore...
