I'll pull the cooker out from its position tomorrow and see what I can deduce.
Seems like the solution may be beyond my ability. (No electrical meters etc.)
Don't want to fork out for a callout if too expensive to justify...
I think that I did prove it is ok although it may be more complicated than I assume. The element heats up fine with the grill wiring linked to the oven. If I turn the thermostat temperature down the element switches off. Turn it up and the element switches back on.
There is only one thermostat...
My oven stopped heating in the middle of cooking although fan still going.
It is an elba excellence but there is no model number on the cooker. It is about 15 years old.
The clock, fan and thermostat are all operational.
I thought it would be the element so undid the back to get at it...
