    "Just 8" Notifiables

Hi Sidewinder, My point is I only really want to work on properties I own, which all have public liability insurance in place. I can't imagine any circumstances when I would sue myself, so what use would more insurance be to me? Ho hum, I suspect I will end up going through some administrative...

    "Just 8" Notifiables

You are right of course Murdoch (I think you have seen my other post 'Third Party Certification' about an idea to ameliorate the costs). I'm trying to persuade STROMA that the public liability insurance I already have on BTL properties is sufficient and I'd have to get my meter calibrated anyway...

    "Just 8" Notifiables

I think you may be right Murdoch, and I suspect that is where I will end up. It wound save money on a single job compared with using the local council's building control department. Best wishes, Alan

    Third Party Certification

Well, that is a couple of strong 'no' votes from Murdoch and Binky. Some good points and well made. What I am suggesting is no different whatsoever from what local council building control offices do at the moment, and charge £310.50 for. I'm just wondering whether there is a margin in...

I suspect you may be right Sharpend; I didn't receive an answer from NAPIT. Best wishes, Alan

    Third Party Certification

Good morning, I have the qualifications (2382 and 2391) from a previous life, but have never practiced as an electrician (I was a surveyor before retiring, now I'm a BTL landlord). There does not seem to be any reasonable way of being able to self-certify notifiable work on my own properties...

    "Just 8" Notifiables

Hi, Does anyone know whether Just* (or anything similar) is still running? I have sent an email to NAPIT but not received an answer. I have both 2382 and 2391, but can't really justify full membership for perhaps 6 jobs per year on my own (BTL) properties. I'm wondering whether there would be...

    Which Cps

Hi NozSpark, Yes, I have a Metrel MI 3000. I have been using it for the odd house survey (I'm largely retired, but keep my hand in with a few jobs). The other cost which may sway whether it is worth joining a CPS is liability insurance. If I am only working on my own properties (which each...

    Which Cps

Many thanks. I can't find any reference to the 'Just8' membership on the NAPIT site, the last mention of it seems to be on a PDF from 2006. I have sent NAPIT an email and will report back... Alan

    STROMA

Hi OnOff, I was wondering which CPS you decided to join in the end. I'm in a similar position: I've recently become a landlord, and coincidentally have both 2382 and 2391 qualifications from a previous life. A property I have acquired could do with a few notifiable jobs, and the local council...

    Which Cps

Good morning, I've recently become a landlord, and coincidentally have both 2382 and 2391 qualifications from a previous life. A property I have acquired could do with a few notifiable jobs, and the local council charge £310 under the building regulations. It would seem that (although I don't...
