PV confused as to how many ac isolators im fitting

would the ac feed from the pv not remain live at all? the 4mm comes from the ac isolator in the loft direct to a rail mounted meter in the CU then out to another ac isolator before feeding the mcb in the CU. is there any problem with wiring the ac isolator before the meter?

PV confused as to how many ac isolators im fitting

yes im aware of that just confirming that ac isolator before a con unit fitted meter is the better option than metering then isolating so leaving a portentially live end in the con unit

PV confused as to how many ac isolators im fitting

i have one wired like this but meter is an mcb sized one fitted inside the con unit therefor ac could remain live in the con unit  (albeit only at the meter incoming side) unless ac isolator in loft adjacent to inverter was isolated. In  this case would it not be wiser to have the ac isolator...

Move Meter From Consumer Unit Because Of Problem Tripping

Cheers Binky, That was a quote from electriciansforum that I found that seemed to point to the fact that others are having problems with RCDs and their Fronius inverters. My Board is Wylex which I'd always found decent along with the MK gear which I used when I rewired. yes the inverter is in...

Move Meter From Consumer Unit Because Of Problem Tripping

Re: fronius ig 3.6 tl issue hi dansk just to follow up on your susgeestions seen as you made the time to reply. All connections fine, phoned fronius and they replied immediately that it was the brand of rcd at fault and said i should replace with 100ma as volex too sensitive heh presto no...

Move Meter From Consumer Unit Because Of Problem Tripping

Cheers Binky and Steptoe, the AC cable from the inverter was ran in 4mm and is routed through a boxed in section that used to house an internal soil stack (removed) which runs from loft to the ground floor under-floor space then comes up in the meter cupboard. there is an isolator at either...

Move Meter From Consumer Unit Because Of Problem Tripping

woah there fella! I got a registered firm in to do my PV install, got it signed off, tested and FIT sorted. This is in my home so the suggestion that I would bodge a job through for cashg whilst potentially risking my family is offensive. I|ve asked for advice on my proposed Mods if you can...

Move Meter From Consumer Unit Because Of Problem Tripping

sure I read on here that sharing the RCD was compliant at the date of my install. Got a fronius Inverter (think its transformerless?) no problem fitting an RCD in the new dedicated board, if it trips itll confirm my opinion that it is the PV that is causing the tripping. it seems to happen...

Move Meter From Consumer Unit Because Of Problem Tripping

Seen a few differing opinions on that on here. They were meant to come back and fit a stand alone meter but never did and I let it slip. It was installed in Dec 2011 just before the price drop on FITs and i was caught between getting this company in or missing the cut off date if I had done my...

Move Meter From Consumer Unit Because Of Problem Tripping

Hi I'm an out of trade but time served Electrician looking for a bit of advice. I had a solar PV install a few years a go and they placed the meter in my existing  consumer unit through a 16A MCB. Im getting an intermittant tripping of my RCD and have had all ccts isolated at one time or...
