    RCD problem during test

Andy my apologies.   Yes the rcd had tripped on this test and the same alert is given during loop and pfc if you get the leads wrong. It will trip the rcd and show trp on the screen.       I have had it during loop and pfc but this the firs time on the auto rcd check.

    RCD problem during test

Canoe Boy  That is my opinion, tripped before test could be completed although I think I need to do as Rob the Rich suggests and test whilst no loads are on. As the same problem did not occur upstairs / on other RCD, there must be an issue with an appliance / load.  I have found some other...

I sat my exams on June 6th and just received the results this week, 14th July.    I was surprised that I had passed both as although I revised, when I looked at the questions, I was convinced that...

    Hello to all

The short course is ok if you are working with an electrician. There is a lot of information to take in, in a short space of time and for that, a level of intelligence is required.    The massive failing is the lack of practicle side. I was already working for a company so had an ideal set-up (...

    Hello to all

Hi to all I am new to the trade, due to redundancies etc, I went self employed, worked for a friend doing electrics as a labourer and decided to get some sort of qualification so went down the fast track route.    I can imagine the gnashing of teeth by all time served fully fledged sparks but...
