Unusual circuit board. Safe or replace?

Great, thank you. Although the earlier comment (recommending calling 105 about the corrosion - as per the second image I uploaded) has really unnerved me.... I'm worried it is a danger now...

Unusual circuit board. Safe or replace?

P.S. I always get an EICR (otherwise I wouldn't sleep at night!) But wanted to check if worth renewing the board - or if I should just go ahead and get the EICR done. But guessing I should first sort corrosion - then EICR (and judging by comments might be OK to keep the board for a few more years 🤞)

Unusual circuit board. Safe or replace?

"It only points out how few domestic properties you've seen". An absolutely pointless and patronising comment. I had better return my 17 properties as clearly I don't have a clue what I'm doing.... It is NOT a standard (as in typical style of) residential board. And other electricians have told...

Unusual circuit board. Safe or replace?

Also these rusty/corroded areas concern me. Any thoughts?

Unusual circuit board. Safe or replace?

Hi all I have just purchased a property investment which has a strange circuit board - doesn't look like a typical residential one - but it's an RCCB nonetheless, so do you think it's OK or I should replace it? Or perhaps just get an EICR done? It is a Merlin Green isobar 4.  Thanks

    New RCD necessary?

When I turned some switches off/on earlier the "downstairs sockets" switch made a nose (like a spark noise) and I've noticed sometimes if I plug my phone or anything into an extension lead that's plugged into the downstairs sockets it can "click" a little (awkward smile time) - I'm going to get...

    New RCD necessary?

Cancel Bosch or not? Anyone...? Sorry to go on so much! Maybe I should stick with it, then if it's not sorted with Bosch I will start with the Electrical installation condition report and take it from there perhaps? Will be a bit naff coming back from my holidays to this. Good excuse to order...

    New RCD necessary?

I just messaged him saying "I thought you tried to change the breaker and it didn't work"? "No, the breaker was on order. But as you were goign to change the board I cancelled it?" They lying ****!!! We didn't want to change anything - we wanted the fault fixing (to which he was supposed to be...

    New RCD necessary?

Told electrician I'm getting it looked at under warranty first and he said "You will need a breaker in the existing board changing if you keep that - just so you know" Erm... He was supposed to be coming to fix the issue (including change the breaker which was his original plan) and fit...

    New RCD necessary?

Perfect! Thank you. (was just literally wondering how to get everything in order/reassured without someone shaking their head going "oooh, you need this and that....." - But knowing there is this "unbiased" option is perfect (the cynic in me won't start tapping on my shoulder) so I can take it...

    New RCD necessary?

HI Andy No - he didn't even check the elements! That's what I'd found out earlier today when I messaged him. This is what I cannot get my head around (especially when oven was pulled out for him to fit new isolators as the same time) he just wants to get a new board without checking the...

    New RCD necessary?

Thanks everyone. I'll let Bosch still visit since it's under warranty. And if they say it's not an issue with the oven, then yes I'll have to give them £100(ish) but perhaps they'll at least know what the REAL issue is and I'll take if from there/get it fixed from someone who's not "guessing"...

    New RCD necessary?

Thanks, that's very useful info. :) Oven is 4.2kw. Hope that helps? Also the garage is attached to the house - but quite far away from the kitchen. Do you think I should just go with the Bosch warranty appointment then (free if it's the oven's fault, but will charge me if it's dodgy...

    New RCD necessary?

Arrrgh..... (hangs head in shame and blushes). He told me it was illegal to not have isolators - I feel like such a pleb now! To be honest - he did seem to want to point out as many negatives as he could "those spots in the kitchen should be replaced for LEDs" (which is a fair/good point to...

    New RCD necessary?

Pretty vague info to be honest. He was here for 4 hours - he fit 3 isolator switches at the same time (hob, oven and fridge as they were non existant which I discovered was illegal. :/ Our previous house owners have a lot ot answer for!). His labour is £15 an hour which I believe is cheap (I...

    New RCD necessary?

Arrrgh! I've tried what you suggested (thanks very much for the guidance - much appreciated) and it DID NOT trip! So perhaps we DO have a faulty RCD? So do I stick to the original plan and let the electrician replace the whole thing then? Do I cancel my Bosch appointment which was covered under...

    New RCD necessary?

I found this - which would make sense (considering ours cuts out after a minute or two - so as it gets hotter) - but would that explain why it works ok after power turned back on...? I got it from the internet on an article called 3 Reasons Why Your Oven Keeps Tripping Electrics

    New RCD necessary?

P.S. Anyone know a reputable electrician based in Huddersfield for future reference? ;)

    New RCD necessary?

After reading your comments I think it's fair for me to argue he's not done enough digging to warrant a new board. Yes, the board probably needs updating but it doesn't look like it's the issue at hand. To warrant a new RCD when not even checked the element seems alien to me. The RCD does not...

    New RCD necessary?

Oops, sorry - yes it's a double oven. Main oven at the bottom and grill at the top which also works as an oven. The RCD main switch trips regardless of which I use (but the oven's MCB switch doesn't trip - it's the main switch that trips indicating that perhaps it is just the system...
