    EICR Unsatisfactory - need advice

Yes, he amended it to "satisfactory" with a few C3s.

That's down as a C3 on my new report :-)  A lot of stuff on the new report that the other guy missed really.

    EICR Unsatisfactory - need advice

So - we've had some guys from UK Power Networks come out and examine the equipment, we don't have a fused Neutral so it's all, all good.  They had to smash up the casing to find out, but then fitted a new modern one.  So all sorted now! The reason the electrician put it down as FI was because...

It was an FI, not C2, don't know if that makes a difference? The box seemed seized shut so he didn't want to risk trying to open it.

    EICR Unsatisfactory - need advice

An update! So - I had a new EICR done today.  And (surprise surprise) he didn't find any problem with any of the original C2s.  There were a couple of small things that the original chap missed, but he rectified those. However, I still don't have a satisfactory EICR though.  Lots of C3s, but...

Doc H, I think you are correct.  It's our fault that our solicitors asked us if we had a certificate and we sent through what we had.  In hindsight that's our mistake and we shouldn't have sent it (being out of date). Sadly, what has happened has happened and the buyer is insisting we get a new...

Is the cooker outlet actually something else not the socket? He mentioned something low level?

Sorry, I missed that.  Can't remember exactly (would have to look it up).  I think it was around £120?  Also can't remember how long, maybe about an hour?  It's a 1-bed flat.

    EICR Unsatisfactory - need advice

Looks like now our buyer wants the installation "made safe" before she moves in next Friday.  Anyone fancy doing an EICR in Cambridge and happy to classify these as C3s? (Assuming no other faults of course) :-)

    EICR Unsatisfactory - need advice

I spoke to the NICEIC technical helpline and he said that all of the C2 should be C3 (subject to supplementary bonding, which we have) I spoke to the electrician who did the report and he said that he can see that 1) and 4) should be C3, but still believes that 2) and 5) are C2. To recap: 1) ...

Really great advice guys.  It is NICEIC, so I'll contact them for advice.  If it should have passed as satisfactory and we've lost £500 because of this then I'm extremely annoyed.  Thanks for the help!

    EICR Unsatisfactory - need advice

Thanks for all the comments.  We're in Cambridge, and we were quoted a price of around £800 for a new board.  However just today our house buyer has forced us to drop the price of the property by £500 because of this.  She left it until last minute before exchange and has us in a corner now else...

We let out the property for 10 months whilst out of the country so needed it for that.
