Hi all, the rechargeable batteries for my 30 year old sewage pump alarm have failed and I wonder should I swap out ni cad for nimh? The alarm unit is powered by mains and charges up the four aa cells in case the alarm circuit trips at the consumer unit. I can't find a model number on the alarm...

Thanks for the comments.  I think I've found the answer - I don't think it's connected to the consumer unit. The reason I think this is because the night consumer unit has 9 circuits but I have 9 storage heater points plus the night immersion.  I've used a meter on each SH point and the night...

Thanks for the help.  I was told they don't make them any more so I was supplied with a conversion kit.  This seems to have done the job and the storage heater is working again. Quite pricey though at over £30.00
