So, what’s wrong with Pylontech batteries?

Victron list all the compatible batteries. Don't know what the installer classes as low, middle or high level batteries. I would be interested in an example of each that he would supply. I wouldn't class them as entry level.

So, what’s wrong with Pylontech batteries?

If givenergy battery fails it needs replacing with a givenergy battery, if pylontech fails you can replace it with pretty much any brand the invertor is compatible with.

    DIY solar install

Both of those diagrams are connected to the grid, hence grid tied. Its irrelevant where the solar power goes, wether to batteries or inverter, the invertor is tied to the grid. Off grid is where there is no connection whatsoever to the property. This may be the reason the original OP had a...

    DIY solar install

An off grid invertor would have no connection what so ever to the grid. That's where the confusion is, that the OP is wanting off grid, but to top up with grid power, so it would be grid tied.

No problem, I'm going with a victron multiplus-ii, that has anti islanding built in, but you can get a stand alone unit but they are not cheap. I was going with eon to get battery storage, but its taken 6 months and the contractor didn't turn up for the appointment, rescheduled and they turned...

    DIY solar install

Yeah I get that, but you will need to check that the inverter doesn't send power back down the line that you are connecting to the grid, if there is a power cut overnight when you are charging, if not the correct inverter with anti islanding, that's what could happen, it's something you will...

    DIY solar install

Hi, I am no electrician, but presently going through the process of getting battery storage added to my PV, which is 3.6kw had for10 years. Someone may correct me but, what you are wanting "off grid" is different to what you are doing "grid tied". From what I understand you will also need to...

    Batteries and FIT payment

Hi, Newby her. I've have a pv installed in 2012, good FIT tariff. I was under the impression that any changes to the install, unless like for like will invalidate the taffif. If using a hybrid inverter, would the power from the battery usage not pass through the generation meter, as that is...
