Just an update on my install. The company miraculously found stock of SPH6000 the next day and that was installed, Scaffold came down on Friday after 8 weeks 😬 They’ve agreed to compensate me £1,500 for all the mishaps I’ve had, basically no shows and 7 visits in total plus two for scaffolding...

Hi John that’s right yeah then was told by email it was an error a that in fact a SPH6000 was the one being installed. I’d sent an email last night and now being fed the line that SPH6000 is out of stock so 5000 was installed until that time! Not the best way for me to find this out, and...

Sorry to drag this thread up again, but I’ve just logged into my ShinePhone app for Growatt and it’s specifies the inverter is the SPH5000 so it’s a 5kw inverter not a 6kw I was quoted for, not a happy bunny here at all.

    Can I join more.........

Very interesting to read as I’m firmly a club member too. As you and John has said in the past the downside is the 3kw output. Think that’ll be my next fire to put out once I’ve actually got DNO approval (installer forgot to apply for it until I asked after install had taken place 🤦🏻‍♂️) I’ll...

    Post Install

Definitely will be sharing everything I can that’s useful. Found a YouTuber called Northern Solar who’s provided a spreadsheet in one of his videos to enter and monitor data.

Thanks for the reply John, I have Eddi being installed as well yes. That is disappointing with the output when running from the battery, guessing on the nighttime’s we may be drawing from the grid in that case but not sure if TV and sonos system would be under 3kwH. We don’t tend to do a great...

    Post Install

Hi Everyone, first off what a superb forum and by far and away the most helpful reading I’ve seen anywhere online. Pleasantries aside I’m, now at the stage where I need to decide a couple of things for my system. System is 20x400w Perlight panels 2x Growatt 6.5 kWh batteries Growatt SPH6000...

Quite a decent size, I’d never get 20 on one side, it’s a split array. @Mrjmegson

Thanks John, great that’s the inverter that is being fitted I’d made an error on that post you quoted, I’ve already been reading your posts on Eddi and I’ve switched my iboost from the quote out for Eddi. EV purchase is a couple years down the line for us but zappi definitely part of the plan...

🤦🏻‍♂️ The inverter is a 6kwh Inverter, would that be much of a problem still? Installer says it has a 8000kw output.

Thanks for the reply Binky, When you say strangling, can you expand a bit for me? Just if necessary I’ll get onto them before install on the 31st. Also is it in anyway hazardous? My inverter and batteries will be in the loft if that makes a difference in terms of fire relating to the strangling.

Hi, sorry to drag this up but wondered on thoughts that the installer has said it is not a 8kwh Growatt inverter but a 5kwh apparently Growat don’t do single phase inverters that size and that it was an error. Will 5kwh be sufficient for an 8k Array? Any help appreciated.

Solar Divert should I be concerned?

Hi all I’m waiting for installation for a system including an Iboost solar divert, however a touch of concern has crept in while watching a YouTube video just now. From what the YouTuber is saying is that if your batteries are DC coupled then the solar divert will almost definitely struggle to...
