Thanks - yes, I've seen them. The main issue is the appearance, and getting a switch plate style to fit in. Anyhoo, looks like they are now going for a mirror with everything built-in - dimmer, light 'warmth', demist - and then seeing if they can have it framed in timber :)

Thanks all. Yes, I've since confirmed that the fittings - which do not have 'chokes' - would need completely rewiring to supply mains directly to any replacement LED tube. Whilst I'd be happy to do this for my own fittings, this is for someone else, and there are too many other factors involved...
