I Hear that the City & Guilds (C&G) 2330 and the AM2 are Changing. Is/are these true?

Just to clarify (as I notice this thread had been stickied), the AM2 will now be changing in April 2010 and not December 2009 as had originally been planned. As it is thought by many to be harder to pass the new one, now would be a good time to think of booking up!

    City and Guilds 2357

Hi all Not going to post it all here, take a look at http://www.electricalqualifications.co.uk/cityandguilds2357.php for some juicy hot off the press information regarding the changes to the qualifications. Suffice to say, things are going to be quite different structure wise (probably not...

    finished my level 3 nice

If you have completed your 2330 Level 3, then you only need to do the 17th Edition update course if you want the qualification. The 2382-20 off the top of my head. There is no requirement to hold the 2382, just that a lot of employers think that if you have done it then you are up to date...

2391 or 2392 whats the difference?

The 2392 was originally introduced because of the high failure rate of the 2391. It covers virtually all the aspects of the 2391 but at a level that's suitable for less experienced electricians. It is also limited to single phase, hence the domestic comment that is usually attached to it. The...

    C&G 302/303 Practical Exam (Testing)..

Wise method, good on them. I know some colleges can be a little *ahem* anal in their approach to the 302 and 303 practicals. I tend to look at whether I think a student is competent (and safe) or not in the testing procedures rather than putting them under pressure to complete a lot of...

    motor question

And also, one of the biggest failings of the typical male is... ...we don't read the question For some genetic reason or other, we tend to skim questions looking for pertinent points which will identify an answer. The two problems with this are: 1) Questions like "Which is the MOST...

    smart screen question

It's not so much power factor directly, more an allowance for the inductive nature of discharge lighting and the higher start up currents. I still equals P/V as you have done, but in this instance a "factor" of 1.8 is assumed to cover the excessive start up currents and inductive load. You...
