With a Zs of 1.13 on a tt I would be looking for a N to E fault.

My worry would be the installation method

Why not wire each machine back to a central consumer unit. each machine will have its own MCB, and the main switch/RCD as you emergency stop 

I don't know what you meant by this  All I was saying that the new heaters will need to be LOT 20 compliant and dimplex  do the Quantum ones but they require 2 supply's 

Old night stores are not LOT 20 compliant  and you will find it hard to get them .Dimplex do  the  Quantum heater's that are. but  you need a 24 hour supply plus the off peak supply .

Your plug has a 13 amp fuse fitted for protection the 16 amp commando socket has none 

Seems they need to redefine the socket and call it 20 amps. or better still say each outlet must have 16 amp ocpd provided at evey point 

So you over current protection for that 16amp socket is the 20 MCB that can't be right

I would go with that plan I  have done the same thing a few times. If it's the kitchen wall add nogging in to support the wall units 

It will only be class 2 if you can fit all the wires into the little  connection box . if you can't make it class one and earth the fitting

And what does niceic stand for/mean

Are you going to be happy to sign the certificate satisfactory without doing any dead test .
