    I did speak to a lady today and she said yes. But they would say anything to get you to transfer over. Just wanted a confirmation before I transfer.

    Wireless room stat

    Evening forum, I was asked to change an old programmer for a modern one which was easy enough. They have since noticed that there is no room stat and have asked me to add a wireless stat. It is a Y plan. DO i just wire the receiver into the wiring center as i would with a wired one? Is there...

    zs=ze+(R1+R2)

    If you are using a test meter with a NO TRIP function for your Zs then you will always get a higher measured value than calculated. With you saying it was on a ring where you got the high reading then there is no doubt it is on an RCD. Then this high reading is expected.

    electric radiator - Cable size

    At the back of BS7671 where it shows a ring circuit, it says something like - space heaters should preferably not be run of the ring that is protected by 30/32amp fuse/mcb. Running it of a radial should be ok but then you looking at possible overloading. I would try and run a separate circuit.

    Is 4mm earth acceptable for a TN-S?

    Hi Forum. First of all thanks to everyone who gave advise on 2391 exam, the wait is over and i passed. I m being assessed at the end of August and i have left my project a bit late. I was going to upgrade the fuse board in my house until today i realised it was a TN-S supply and the earth is...

    Help with a lighting fault please?

    i would try another B6 first just in case it is the mcb. I would not go any bigger than 6. That is more than big enough for what is on the circuit. Type C breaker has a bit more tolerance to sensitivity. However if you change the type of mcb from a B to a C You would then have to test the earth...

    4mm T&E for ring circuit

    Thanks for the overwhelming response. The reason why i wanted to use 4mm ring is 2.5 reference method C can only carry 27amps and the loads might not be distributed evenly on the ring.4mm can carry 37 so with it being protected by 32amp breaker i know i am safe. Thanks

    exporting earth

    Yes thats right and even though BS7671 is non-statutory as long as work is best carried out to regs, that is what will prove my innocence.

    exporting earth

    We just had our assessment with NICEIC with the company i work for as approved contractor. I asked about exporting earth and the answer was there are no regs stopping anyone exporting earth on a TN system. If TT the outside building has to have its own stake/rod. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR AN ARGUMENT...
