    Rcd Spur Went Bang

It's fine with a better RCD spur now. I only pressed the reset button after trying the test button and it went bang. I didn't flinch , but the people in the house jumped a bit.

    Rcd Spur Went Bang

The load goes out to the garage, that's why it is SWA I can't remember the brand Steve, it's out in the van, but it is a cheap one. It's only meant to be a temporary fix.

    Rcd Spur Went Bang

Thanks for the reply, but it was wired correctly. The supply and load terminals were clearly marked. The replacement is purely temporary to get the lighting working. They have promised not to use the heaters or kettle in there again. I will be requiring the supply from the cons unit shortly as...

New Safety Gloves and New IEE Wiring Regs

No , really when the blue book was current you could get the amendments for free from the IEE website . This may well have stopped these days, I don't really know. Sent from my BlackBerry 9300 using Tapatalk

New Safety Gloves and New IEE Wiring Regs

They used to offer the amendments on their web site as downloads that you could print them off and put in the book ,or keep in a file etc. When the 16th edition bs7671 came out there was already an amendment as it went on sale.

    Hi bay fittings.

Ill have to try that next time, trouble is the forklift drivers moan as it is with some of the lights out.We have thought about fitting double pole switches to simulate unplugging the klik roses but its quite low on the owners ies priorities at the moment.

    Hi bay fittings.

The power dip is probably for 2 0r 3 seconds Doc.The fittings are spread across all three phases, and come from 2 different Dis boards.Deke, this sounds similar to my problem, the lights here are on 24/7 so dont get switched off . Its just strange that some will only come on after the rose is...

    Hi bay fittings.

Hi, A customer of mine has a building with about 35 high bay metal halide light fittings. After a power dip, which can be a regular occurance some of these dont come back on after a cooling off period. Some are Philips fittings, and these are fine, but the majority are cheaper fittings. Some...

    Idiot

Yes he could not understand why the main fuse had blown and not the mcb in the dis board.I did make him realise what an idiot he was though, but i do have to be careful as i do want to keep the work there and you never know how high up he is in the company.

    Idiot

Yes I would report him if I new where he lives. At least by now he has safely put a new fuse in, but he has no idea why it blew in the first place, and then the idiot puts a bit of wire across it. Frightening!

    Idiot

Hi, Just had an office worker where im working showing me a 60a cartridge fuse from his cutout at home that had blown while he was using the shower today, and asking if i had one.He said that luckily the seal was already broken on the cutout.I went with him to my van to look, but did not have...

A very common problem, the oven timer often gets set to auto when being cleaned and has to be reset to hand before it will work.
