    spur for dishwasher

You would have to ask JPEL/64 committee why they omitted bs7288 rcds (includes srcd socket outlets too) in the 18th. No BS EN numbers were quoted in previous editions as far as I can see.  One guess is that you have both latching and non latching types in the same standard, which for socket...

    spur for dishwasher

Depends on whether the cable coming down from the ceiling has anything else attached before it joins the ring, and whether it is surrounded by thermal insulation etc. Note that an RCD fused spur to BS7288 is not in the list of RCD types recognised by reg 531.3.6 and therefore does not afford...

    Bonding ..again !

Refer them to latest Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure Here (specifically to 3.3.2) ie There is a duty to inform the responsible person in writing. We were advised in training recently to preferably get a signature to prove they received the bonding notice. That is it though, it is not...

Electrician cuts installed cables because they are dangerous!!

Gas fitters don't have the right to disconnect. If an immediately dangerous situation is identified, we ask permission to disconnect. If refused then tell gas "dno" who do have the right of entry and disconnection.

Wiring 2nd light from one switch

But is the 2 way lighting fed from upstairs or downstairs? Switch off the upstairs lights at the breaker, does your working light ( the one you are taking switch live from) still work?

Wiring 2nd light from one switch

I think you mean you have 3 cables going into the non-working light, loop in, loop out and switch cable. It is the switch cable that is terminated in the junction box. So it should be possible to connect the switched live of this cable to the switched live of the working switch cable. But they...

All Radiators Heat Up With Hot Water On Sometimes Only Bathroom One

From your results it seems the mid position valve is wired correctly and that the programmer is telling it to divert the flow correctly. But from your earlier posts the heating and hot water are plumbed in the wrong way around. You could get the plumber in to fix his/her mistake, drain down...

    Overcharged by electrician

Did the emergency electrician leave your failed rcd? It belongs to you and is your proof of British Gas's shoddy workmanship. I think you, or the electrician should report the incident to the health and safety executive via RIDDOR http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/concerns.htm this page says that...

    Job I've started today

I asked because I think you give a choice of main switch to right or left. It would be nice to have numbers accordingly. Thanks

All Radiators Heat Up With Hot Water On Sometimes Only Bathroom One

It sounds like you have heating and hot water controls the wrong way around. Turning up the cylinder stat should have no effect on the heating. The bathroom radiator getting hot all by itself could be due to one of two things. Some systems are designed with the bathroom rad tee'd off the hot...
