    Friend of mine whats me to look at the kitchen lights. They said that two bulbs blew which took out the mcb. They replaced the lamps and the lights work but dimmers do not. Would the dimmers of blown?

    Fire-rated or not?

    Are fire-rated downlights required in a kitchen of a two storey house with a bedroom above? Obviously its better to have fire-rated ones but they have already been purchased. Building regs seem to condradict all the electrical regs and advice :S

    Well I havent investigated yet just had a quick look when fitting was down. There was a brown and blue twisted together which could be identified wrong as mentioned above but wheres the neutral then? lol I reckon there will be a junction box in loft.
