Got my 206 practical exam coming up and I could do with looking at some pictures of how people in the past have set them up. Some inspiration I suppose! Can anyone help me out? Got an idea of how i'm going to set it all out, but I wanna make sure its 100%.

Is it ok to show these pics on the forum?

Thanks you lot! :D

Did the exam yesterday and almost finished. This is what I have so far......

Just need to fit my ceiling rose and add my MICC

You need Admin to skim that wall for you!

:D

Have you stripped a bit too much insulation off some of the wires? Should we be able to see copper?

Yeah, the back wall is messed up, but not the worst of the cubicles! Good old Doncaster college!

I just need to sort out the sleeving on my earths and make the other cables a bit neater, but I have plenty of time yet. Just wanted to set the foundations before making it look a bit more tidy. Sadly, I conclude the test the day after I get back from a stag do in Benidorm!! Now that will be a struggle!

I have mine too in a couple of weeks. Couple of questions?

If a single cable goes into 1 terminal should it be doubled back?

Does it matter if you can see the cable poking through the other side of the earth and neutral bar?

usually fold it over, unless its a large cable for the terminal

as long as its not too much - 1 or 2mm will be OK
my red`

You'll be fine Tim. I'll admit to feeling a bit nervous beforehand, but once I started I found it fun and enjoyable! Strange to feel that way considering its an exam, but it was a good day. Just want to get it finished now.

They have shown us a picture of what we will be doing it involves-

Terminate SWA into CU then into steel trunking (already mounted), above trunking two way lighting circuit run in steel conduit with one 90 degree bend and two ceiling roses.

Below trunking ring main with four single sockets run in plastic conduit with one 90 degree bend.

Tim

That sounds similar to what I had to do Tim.
