3 core armouerd

On a 3 core armoured obviously brown is the line.What colour should you use for neutral and earth?.What is black used as and what is grey used as?.Does it really matter as long as one end is taped the same as other end Ryan

live = brown

neutral = gray

earth = black.

make sure that the conductors are marked / sleeved / identify

As long as it's sleeved with correct colours at the ends who cares mate. The nic brigade are trying to de-neutralize the black but tbh I use black as neutral and grey and earth both sleeved. Hth

I had so red white and blue cable today on a lighting circuit and had to extend with brown black grey 3 core. How would you have joined them. Which colours to which ?

Red->Brown

White -> Black

Blue -> Grey

For exactly the same reasons I use the black as earth and grey as neutral in 3c SWA
