Greetings............

Would anyone know if there's a way of running this motor over here in the UK on a single phase supply? Unfortunately changing the motor isn't an option as its part of the machine.

On the label it shows a diagram to say its wired "Delta".

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

If it is part of a machine then its correct operation may be vital for the safe operation of the machine and there are all sorts of directives regarding machinery in the UK. You have the wrong voltage, wrong phase configuration and wrong frequency so you will need a converter to address all this and in all practical terms it would be more cost effective to replace the motor. What about the motor controls and other electrical systems are they compatible with UK supplies.

This is a surface grinder where the faceplate for the grinding segments bolts on a large taper which is part of the armature and the head of the machine holds the field windings.

There is a coolant pump and another motor which when engaged feeds the head along the bed. Both of these wouldn't be that hard to change, but its the 3hp that spins the cutter head that's the real problem.

There isn't any real switch gear on this.
