what would you reccomend revising the most as i seem to be looking at everything :( cant wait to get it over with

Just had mine today and got a distinction all i can say is there are more questions on motors than any other

hey luke can you remember what questions you had? i have mine soon also....

and it would be a great help for me and all the lads if you could... thanks.

everyone seems to say that lol & just in time after todays revision i have found out its my weakest point , how in depth were the calculations you needed to do if any?

just had mine tonight , passed it three years done . thank god.

from what i can remember the questions were

inductive reactance one , given info have to work out

transformer one 3 bits of info work out.

20amp socket what type of protection it needs

how does a rcbo work

how do you improve starting torque on induction motor

good few on motors as well

minds gone blank will try and remember a few more.

just thought of one

what is formula to work out capacitor charge

Off the top of my head i cant remember them exactly but a few on single phase motors, i.e how they start, how they're connected etc.... how to correct power factor and inductance and capacitance in circuits are the ones that stick in my head.

funnily enough i only had a few calaculation questions, one was on synchronous speed, but the questions are heavy on motor theory.

Regarding your examples:

20amp socket what type of protection it needs - what is this answer? 16A Mcb

how does a rcbo work -works on overload and short circuit?

how do you improve starting torque on induction motor - more frequency or less poles?
