went to get a lighting job completed for a family friend & ended up teaching a distressed 5ww :slap

The day went as follows:

Refurb of a conservatory for this friend being done by a local builder, flat roof gone on with orangery center glass section & walls bricked right up to roof, any way the tiler is disc cutting the old ceramic floor tiles out...........gets a tingle........."hmmmmmm, checks cu nope nothing tripped",  carries on.........ends up in a heap post electric shock & rcd had tripped this time, so the home owner & builder use a hammer & chisel to lift he tiles. Oh dear when the conservatory first went up some 8 - 9 years ago getting across the door gap was obviously an issue.

Builder gets a mate in.... a recently qualified 5ww do it all type fella.

The system is TT on typical Hampshire chalk downs, due to new build estate next door all incoming water/gas services have been upgraded to pvc the ground is bone dry so much so that the Ze came in at 992 ohms.........................rod so loose in the deck I pulled it up one handed after having found it under a slab in the flower bed :C

cu is a split memra2000 &  rcd only covering sockets.

A lesson for the 5ww on soil conditioning around the new 16mm doubled up rod.

I blame the conservatory company/builder....... They generally pay peanuts for cony electrics .... Last one I was offered the price was £160 for 2x sockets 2x wall lights 1x heater & 1x external socket + cert = joke .....& 2 visits, I've seen plenty where the cables are run under the door frame but never ran along the floor before
