Hi,

Just wondered if anyone does their own accounts and if so how do you log receipts, incoming wages, petrol, etc.

Any info would be appreciated

Cheers

I use quickbooks which you wright in each item also does invoices etc and works out VAT. Accountant then checks things over at end of year and tells me how much tax they owe me if only.

I just do them in a book , handwritten, simply, income on the left page , expediture on the right , with extra column for the VAT . All invoices numbered, save all reciepts and incoming invoices, fuel chittys. Thats about it really.

Last Friday in the month I bring it up to date, that way they are only one month behind and theres not a PITA job at the end of the year .

Sorry boys

i just put my receipts in a clear folder and at end of each week lean over and put on her desk !!!!!

job done

no much tax bill to pay this year !!!!!!!

CIS is great !!!!!

I use a spread sheet, and keep any receipts in a folder.

When I submit my self assesment On line, I print out a copy and place this in the same folder.

I don't use petrol receipts, as I claim a millage allowance based on distance traveled.

If you have a works vehicle, and claim petrol etc. it may be a good idea to get a credit card solely for that vehicle's exspences.
