Afternoon

Had a job today to inspect a property prior to purchase. Big fancy place, is a penthouse suite in apartment block. Has 3 large verandas. And also a Futronix lighting system. As can see from photo is a 3 phase DB. I don't think money is a big issue to customer and in an ideal world i would like to try to provide RCD protection to all circuits. The Verandas are definitely a concern to me although no sockets out there l, can definitely plug appliances in and use out there. Also sauna, towel rail sockets and lighting no rcd protection. I realise a case could be made for C3's on some of these dependent on installation method and other factors but would really like to at least give him the option of RCD protection to these. Also he is considering making modifications and adding sockets and possibly ighting so RCD protection will be required for these regardless. As can see if purchase RCBO's for this board requires 2 modules and space is limited. What would people suggest with practical ways of getting round this. Or any RCD 3 phase boards anyone recommend? Have had a check online and sees pretty limited here.

Many thanks

It's a CEF Board...the coroners choice, bin it, bin it NOW!

best option is a new board with RCBOs

schneider....best

contactum....ok

CGD/Lewden.   .......avoid like the plague on a really REALLY bad  2 for 1 plague day
I no mate I noticed that. Spent loads on property but gone cheap on board.

dont really exist - all of them will do single phase RCBO's, some do a add on module for a TP breaker to give it RCD protecion but ive never done anything with them
Thanks Andy I'll have a check about

What am I missing?

Proteus board.  Proteus make single module rcbo's.  Solved.

I must be missing something bloody obvious here?

Looks like I missed the obvious Dave. Just seeing the Double module RCBO already in there and searching for online thought they was all 2 module so would be strapped for space. So standard Proteus RCBO will be suitable for this board?

Is that an RCD or RCBO bottom left?

RCBO. You can see where the output terminal of the MCB is covered over with a cap before it feeds into the RCD side.

Badge engineered Dorman Smith if not mistaken https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DORMAN-SMITH-32-AMP-TYPE-C-M9-30mA-DOUBLE-POLE-RCBO-AR3230-/143202905787

Or ABB https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ABB-32-AMP-TYPE-C-10kA-30mA-DOUBLE-POLE-RCBO-DS671-C32/114305486019?hash=item1a9d234cc3:g:DgoAAOSwjh1fDxgl

One of those must make them for the other, and for proteus

Not sure who make the normal MCBs for them though

Everyday's a school day!...never seen one of those before

Proteus do compact rcbo's
