Advice To A New Kindle Owner .

OK I discovered that switching the Wi-Fi connection OFF   by switching  "Aeroplane"  ON  it conserves battery power .

Its not the best idea to have to recharge it from the computer , computer has to be ON etc so looked up Amazon's charger ( As they don't supply one with the device      )    £18 !!!

So question is , what is the output of the new power sockets with the USB port ?   Not fitted any yet .

Amazon charger is 100-230V     0.3A  

Output    5.0V  1.8A

Any USB charger will do. Cheap as chips from ebay

Be careful with buying cheap E-bay crap. My IPhone will not charge unless I use am Apply lead. Not sure if you will have the same concern with a kindle however.

Pretty sure the Kindle is a bit more forgiving and will happily charge from anything 5V.

USB spec is 5V so anything that is supposedly a USB charger of any description should be 5V.

I have a fear of cheapo chargers TBH  after seeing a H&S video on a cellphone charger ..........the guy answered his phone while connected to the cheapo charger and as he held it to the side of his face .... the seperation in the charger broke down , passing 240V through the phone which blew up causing major burns to his face .

Thanks guys  I think I'm going to order an MK Logic twin SSO with the ports .

From my experience Kindles aren't fussy about their charger.

It converts ebooks between formats so they're not tied to a single device and it has impressive library capabilities. Well worth the effort and it's free.

Apple are extremely good at it but there are other makes of things that do similar useless trickery, Sony & Samsung instantly spring to mind.

Yes. No different to using only 'Jaguar parts' to keep your vehicle warrenty. Been going on since the dawn of time and will probably coninue to.

To be honest Inam one of those people that needs to have the 'proper' stuff if you know what I mean. Never got on with illegal downloads as I want the 'proper' thing. Never bought snide clothes. So annoying.

I charge my kindle in the car when I forget to charge it at home, same lead charges my Samsung phone. Never had a problem with either. Good thing with a kindle once the battery is charged it lasts about a month.

I bought a couple from CPC on separate occasions recently, paid slightly different prices for them but they have been on offer a lot.

WHAT!!!     I've charged mine twice since Christmas !!!   Do you have a car battery strapped to the thing  Richard 1X ?
