Hi,

Hope someone can help or advise on the following problem:

I was replacing wall sockets in the hallway, and after first intial test ... it tripped 2 breakers - one for the hallway and another for kitchen lights. (it is a new house, built 2 years ago)

After all fixed with hallway - all working sockets and lights - the kitchen lights will not switch on.

I just checked the breaker with voltage detector (left only one breaker on) and it seems to be working ok. I also switch them all off and on - and the main one outside the house.

But the kitchen lights won't turn on, nor the voltage detector will show any power in any of the light switches in the kitchen.

I also took the ceiling lights off and checked the wires with vd, no power.

I hope it is something silly and easlily fixable. Can you please advise.

Thanks

Peter

Hi,

Yes I have... Realized after posting about it earlier, that one of the light switches in the hallway is from the same circtuit as the kithen lights ...

2 wires were in the wrong place. Fixed :)

Thanks.

So in the process of changing some SOCKETS you also took a light switch off and messed with the wiring in there, but thought it not important to mention that bit in the original question?
