As you approach Birmingham on M5 , around West Brom there are three  huge screens like giant TVs showing adverts .

Surely a distraction to drivers !!!

The one is extremly bright , shows up as a glare on my piccy.

If that famous bra advert appears , Stepps would drive straight through the barriers while craning his neck for a last look.

The great Fireball in the last piccy is the sign !!

The first time I drove past that one on the A167 I was gobsmacked. It's on a busy part of the road which has a bit of a sod of a junction/slip road. Surprised there hasn't been an increase in accidents due to it.

There's far too much stuff to take note of when driving now, you need a co-pilot to be able to drive safely. I would hate to have to drive all over the country like I used to now, driving is not a pleasure anywhere at all.

I was reading a busy advert on the back of a trailer trying to work out what it was about, obviously distracting me from the road somewhat. Turns out it was a 'take care and pay attention to the road' banner.

All of these new speed warning signs that flash up 500 superbright LEDs in your face when driving is a danger, if someone leapt out of the bushes and flashed a big torch in drivers faces the authorities would be wanting a word.

You just reminded me of an incident back when our pubs here were being blown up etc  .  I'm driving along in a van , I catch sight of an armed man , who steps out from behind a car , adopts the stance of an Amercan cop , points a gun with the two handed grip at me ....I duck & swerve in a panic ...then realise its a traffic cop with a hand held radar gun .

"Well he was under the limit but I think we'll have a word as he has taken out that garden fence and ornamental fish pond".

Forgive me if I’m wrong. I was under the impression there was legislation for motorway signs????

Minor things like not distracting the driver.

I no longer drive due to my health so haven’t been on a motorway for a very long time. Last time it was nothing more interesting than speed restrictions or delays on the Outer Mongolia ring road.

bloody hell,

ive done about 2500 miles the past 2 weeks,

a lot of morons out there, and those signs, they really are a major distraction,

I see one of them has already got random gibberish in the middle of it,,,,,,,

there is a screen in Plymouth on the University, when it changes to full on white it is totally blinding, and so bright is reflects light off the clouds. Signs are supposed to have day-light sensors to dim down at night....

There's a factory nearby that has recently had a load of LED floods put up on a photocell, most are angled too far up so shine straight in your eyes as you drive past. They are angled too far up for if they were halogens but the LED beam angles are quite wide and are more piercing.

This is another new problem as everyone keeps replacing fittings with LED but they are fitted by idiots, a halogen flood shining across the road is a hazard, an LED flood shining across the road is a danger..
