Here is my latest automation job. The client has a Square D IHC system no longer supported in the UK but big in Europe.

Its been in 5 ish years and he is fed up with it as there are no nice switches to go with it as it works on a momentary push switch and they have awful clipsal white plastic things.

So I'm ripping it all out and putting this c-bus one with Saturn dlt's and standard saturns.

Its all on the rig to pre program to save down time as the clients will be living in the house during the rippout.

Its also getting a Cytech Comfort alarm to talk to the c-bus and the c-bus wiser so they can access the whole thing from a web browser anywhere that has a web connection. Also lets me access it remotely to do alterations for them.

I'll post the finished pics next month when its done.

Looks very tidy mate. Sorry to be dumb but what is it?
Not a dumb question at all mate, its lighting, dimming and blind control, but it can be used to switch a whole range of things to give full home automation.

Very nice..... I wish some of my customers could afford something like that!
I'd like a few more :^O , there aint many asking for it, but there is the odd one which is enough to keep my hand in.

Wow! How did you get into this market! Fascinated!

How do people actually use this stuff? I can understand using programmable remotes to set up AV/mood lighting/blinds etc as you are there to enjoy the effect.

Why - in a domestic environment do people want to be able to control things over the internet when they are not there to experience it?

Sorry - I'm just a Luddite with nerdy tendencies!!!

Some people have more money than sense but it keeps us busy I suppose.

Nice to see, we did the 2 first IHC jobs in the UK around 2004 in Maidstone and Eastbourne work great but if I remember the programing was a pain!

I know who I am going to call to do mine when I win the lottery. :)

They will be using the system to run simulated living when they go out or away on holiday etc. once the alarm is set the system starts turning the lights on to make it look like you

I have Automatic Lighting control in my bathroom, from which 2 lighting device and a fan is connected. It is important and a sort of energy sever as I don't have to bother about turning off the devices when I am done.

Pir's are good in bathrooms especially if you have young children or any children come to think of it. Have fitted them a few times and they work well.

Here are some updated pics, still not 100% done due to extra's.

Client asked for a new CU to match the Hager Invicta automation panel and the 2 look smart with the smoke glass doors, post a picture shortly with the cover on.

Still got the Cytech system to fit and link in to the c-bus to give it automatic simulated living when armed. Client wants to live with the configuration for a month and then do a list of software tweaks.

Its nice to have a client that is happy to allow you to spend the time on producing a job that looks good with the cover on or off.

i know im 2 years late but anyone got any websites on this stuff i could gander at?

cheers

Lutron, Cbus (Preferred this and highly used in Australia), KNX, Futronix can all be looked up on google :) Saturn range from CBus are quality, easy to operate and an absolute doddle to program if ya tech savvy around a computer!! :)
