Hi all, I am trying to get more than 12 photos on ebay!! How do i do this?? I understand i need one of them photo hosting things. What is the best one?? photobucket is TERRIBLE with just endless popups and adverts. What should i do??

john..

Photobucket has gone down the pan as far as I’m concerned, it was OK to start with. The problem is I’ve 100’s of drawings on there I need access to for internet articles I’m writing.

I’ve never gambled in my life, I don’t agree with it. Why do I have to have gambling sites pushed at me all the time?

That is what annoys me: The functionality of the thing takes second place to all the lettuced it fires at you, plus all the tracking cookies, adverts, strident music you cannot turn off, and all the rest..

I believe you can't have more than 12 pictures for an item on ebay. It does say "add up to 12 pictures for free" but I would say that is because it used to be 3 pictures for free and you had to pay per picture if you want more.

As for picture hosting sites, I would suggest you don't rely on them. (I am not saying don't use them, just don't rely on them)

My reasoning is if / when they fold there go your pictures.

They said the Titanic would never sink, it did.

You are right, with Ebay it is 12 pictures, but apparently, "ebay motors" will let you have 24, Still, just advertised my bike, and it would only let me have 12, but if you put your photos on something like photobucket, get the HTML thing for each photo, and then paste it in the Ebay "description" box, [having first clicked on the "HTML" thingy] you can then have as many as you like!! I got 27 photos on there now!!

I used Photobucket originally.....but filled it up. Now I keep getting messages and emails that unless I upgrade I'll lose the ability to download my photos etc.

I use Flickr which is tbh pretty good.

But on recommendation I now mainly use Tinypic. Yes, it's free, yes you get some pop ups but overall pretty good. With the free version you can only upload 5 photos at a time from your camera etc but it's pretty easy (just do another 5). One tip, make your albums up FIRST then upload to the albums. I find it a bit convoluted moving photos from the "main" area to the albums.

Hmmm, it was more long winded than PB but it works.

I’ve just registered with TinyPic to give it a try although I won’t be moving the drawings as it would mean editing all the completed articles.

I’ll let you know what I think.

I quite like Tinypic. Sometimes, at least for me, when you try and sign in and it brings up a "celeb/news" web page which you have to cancel. This thread has made me go back into my Flickr account and have a look. I'd never quite figured how to embed a single photo link on a post like this. So after a bit of methodical looking here goes nothing:

<a data-flickr-embed="true"  href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/122042403@N05/16164290435/in/album-72157649635946859/" title="1012929_10152686082973001_3080068548335403508_n"><img src="https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7580/16164290435_bc606ee0c7_b.jpg" width="634" height="960" alt="1012929_10152686082973001_3080068548335403508_n"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

That didn't work, just shows the "photo" as above.

Just tried the "BBCode" option but although that showed the photo it also had my personal details at the bottom so I edited the post. I remember doing this before which is why i went to Tinypic I think.

Let's try the direct share link:

I'm an IDIOT it was that easy!  :Blushing

In THAT case have a bash with Flickr too before you go too far down the Tinypic route. Flickr is much slicker and "evolved". Clicking on the above photo does though take you to all the rest of my photos interspersed with other random ones that aren't mine.

One reason I use PB is you can set the albums to private. I’m not having you lot nosing around my “hobby” albums.

Fair point. Pretty sure you can make albums in Flickr private and add "Guest passes" but I've not done it. On Tinypic you have to set up a private profile I think. Neither are as easy to do IMO as on PB.

Is dogging considered a hobby then?

On a serious note, there’s a lot of drawings that I don’t want others dibbing in to without my permission. I uploaded one this morning, it took me six hours of calculations and drawing time (several pints last night slowed things down).

The drawing will be on here at some point in the future.

Photobucket is driving me up the bloody wall! But I’m stuck with it unless I rewrite everything in knowledgebase.

Only four drawings to upload and link to TEF, anyone would think I was attempting the impossible. Moving the pyramids 12” north would be easier.
