if you carry out a contunity check for gas and water and it reads that there is continuity between the MET and the water and gas main taps but there is no visable earth going to it, is this acceptable or not.

sorry for the silly question, but just came across this yesturday. going bk tomorrow to carry out some more work to the property.

 
It could be a parallel path between the gas/water and the MET (the 1.5mm CPC to the gas boiler for example). The bonding cable needs to be removed from the MET (with the supply turned off) and tested that way.
