Calculator problems

i did this question (2330 301 paper 3)

A circuit consisting of an inductance of 0.35H connected to a 50Hz has an inductive reactance of:

a) 9.1 mΩ B) 0.09 Ω c) 109.9 Ω d) 1.099 kΩ

my calculator gives : 109.9557429

i would have thought the correct answer is C but its B on the answer sheet

how do i set up the calculator to correctly round numbers off?

Usually you do the calculation with the calculator and use your brain for the rounding off bit. Wet Fish I did have a Sharpe calculator that I could get to show limited decimal places.

I agree that your calculated answer of 109.9557429 is closest to option C but rounds down to 1 decimal place of 110.0

Can you show your working?

haha I think my brain is melted from all the revision to round off numbers lol

I did xl = 2 X 3.142 X 50 X 0.35 = 109.97

but when i used the pie symbol it came out as = 109.9557429

hopefully this is not a simple question again ROTFWL but how does 110 equate to 1.099 Kohms? (decimal place movment?)

i dont have a s/d button but if its to move the decimal place i think its shift eng on my casio

109.9557429 rounds UP to 110.0!

The number after the 9 is five so it is rounded up to ten. X(

If you work it out with crbvcurbvubruvbruvb to 2 decimal places it works out at 109.9 exactly.

XL = 2 x 3.14 x 50 x 0.35 = 109.9

Just a thought.
