New to this forum so go easy.

Having worked for a company (18 years made redundant), I am now out on my own. What do you guys charge for call out. I'm talking about simple resets and fuse replacements.

Do you have a weekend / evening call out. I have started working on a minimum fee of

your not employed and need to cover your costs like insurances, travelling to that job, general vehicle costs, scheme provider, advertising etc etc so a minimum charge clearly put on any advert and repeated on the phone before anyone agrees to any work is fair enough i think.

You have got to work out what it is worth to you also be it evenings or weekends etc. I don't get to many call outs as I don't advertise my business very much. I generally charge a minimum of

Went out to a faulty dishwasher the other evening, 2 mins from home. Went in kitchen, switched fused spur on, job done. Normally charge

why is it when i tell council tenants that their washing machine/dishwasher/freezer etc is the cause they call me a liar, say i don't know what i'm talking about and say the house should be knocked down and rebuilt then demand a different electrician tells them that their appliance is at fault. still they don't like it when they get a recharge through the post, oh well.

and has anyone noticed how some! customers are just biggest pain in the you know what ever !
It would be great if you didn't need customers but its usually builder customers that are the worst luckily I only deal with one at present and he's ok. Generally householders are ok have not had to many bad ones.
