Recently changed to sky fibre

Previously with BT Broadband non fibre

Seems worse than BT for some reason. pages painfully slow to load. getting impatient. Phoned Sky and went through some procedures including changing channels on the wifi etc. still carp

did an online test which says I'm getting 16.8 download and 7 upload. My son measured 600kb/ps this afternoon! 

I expected everything to be quicker with fibre - I know its not proper fibre and its copper pair back to the roadside box half a mile away but still very disappointing.

Any advice?

We recently went to fibre in our office. Was expecting this amazing speed. Rubbish. Absolute rubbish.

Other factors like the location of your nearest "box",  the nearest exchange, contention ratio, and local population density will also have a bearing on your line speed.

I think it is a bit 'off' that they advertise all this Superfast Fibre.....and it is only FTTC ( fibre to the DSLAM cabinet). From there it is whatever carp copper you had BEFORE you paid all the money!

They just hide it in the small print
