OK, some help needed using this,

I have used it in the past to clone HDD to HDD,

this time I could really do with being able to clone a disk to CD/DVD,

is this doable?

will I be able to put an 80G HDD on a CD? as an image perhaps?

hardly any of the 80G HDD is used, its really only the OS that currently lives there.

Steps,

The max you can have on a DVD R is 4.7GB,, so you'd have to burn your image over multiple disks:O

No experience of Clonezilla though

but the image isnt the actual size of the disk, or is it?

I always thought the image was a lot lot smaller than the finished product, and Im only probably using about 7or8G on the 80G HDD,

suppose I need to wait for Brian or Deke to log on.

If you have a dual layer disk then you can have 8 or 9 GB approx.

I know WinZip will span a file over several disks.

Never used Clonezilla TBH, I also have a 1TB usb so I tend to copy large data structures to that!

Ive just found an 8G usb stick, so will try shrink the HDD / down to fit ,

should work OK, my OS is <5G so should shrink OK,

Why do you need to put it on a disk why not just store on a hdd?
