Hello people...

I'm really struggling and hoped someone could help. I've bought my fan for my conservatory and I've bought a mounting frame to attach it to the ceiling strut, but there were no instructions and I don't know how I'm supposed to attach it to the roof spar (it must be aluminium or steel). Can anyone give me some sensible advise... please

easiest way is to pull down the plastic cover from the apex and inside will be a steel beam about 2 or 3 inches wide, run your cable under the plastic cover clipping cover back on as you go.

drill 25mm hole in plastic at point you want to mount the fan, its better to choose a midway point and not that stupid bolted cover position at the end because there is nothing underneath to get a sound fixing too!!!

mark plastic for bracket, pilot drill two holes, 3.5mm is fine then two nice fat self tappers inch n half will be ok with 2 spring loaded washers

make sure the drop rod leaves sufficient space between blades and roof (they tend to come in 9" standard but you can buy 12" or 15") because if its a cheap fan and its turned on full speed they tend to vibrate and move around more than my ex wife ever did!

3 core n earth would give you the option of switching lights or fan or both at a convenient light switch position on conservatory wall rather than fumbling with the naff pull cords they come with
