It would seem that the circuit board has 'gone' on my electric shower and after having an electrician take a look at it today it appears that a whole new shower will be more cost effective than having the board replaced. I don't doubt this but wondered if anyone had, had any experience of a similar problem and whether there was anyway of fixing it? Thanks in advance.

Its often the case with these things  , unless you can do it yourself , the cost of a guy plus a circuit board plus travel etc can well be more than getting a plumber or sparks to replace the unit .

And personally I avoid flashy complicated electronic powered things with flashy lights.  A plain simple shower without that complication will heat the water just as well, will be cheaper, and less likely to go wrong.

just try and get a replacement shower with the water inlet on the same side, that way it should hopefully cover up the original mounting holes.

as above, not generally an economical repair.

Thanks Steptoe (only just seen this!) We've since had the circuit board looked at and although the shower now works it refuse to run hot or even luke warm!! We're giving it up as a 'bad job' and have ordered a replacement which is like for like so at least we won't have too much trouble re-connecting! Thanks again!
