Just ordering a Danfoss brake resistor, this spec:

Dynamic brake resistor

70 ohm

Danfoss

175U3404

I think you can get a folded, “mesh” cover that goes over it. My supplier (Medloc) reckons not.....according to his supplier. But I've found this albeit Russian link that suggests they are in fact available:

Anyone know a part number?

Cheers

Failing that, I'd ring Danfoss tomorrow, distributors are notoriously poor on real techie stuff.

Cheers. Tbh, my supplier is really good. Been using him personally as a "one stop shop" for nearly 30 years now especially where we've not got accounts. Probably HIS supplier that's drawing the blank.

I fabricated (bodged) my own housing and resistor network for a Telemecanique VSD after it had fried yet another “correct” resistor.

OK it didn’t look pretty but it never failed again. Because of the failure rate we had half a dozen spares on stock so I made up a series/parallel network using four resistors. They wouldn’t fit in the panel so I resorted to a bit of tin bashing.

SW, it was on my old favourite, this time a centrifuge filled with liquid concrete
