Disappearing Norton Blues

Switch on PC this afternoon  and Windows suddenly goes into panic mode  ..."  Windows cannot detect any Firewall , Malware , Anti virus  etc  etc etc  You are doomed , doomed "       

Looking round the screen  & I'm thinking  " Where has Norton gone ?"     And there it was , gone  with about 3 months to go on the subscription ....must have taken 2 hours to re-install it  ..Jeez !! 

WHy would it do that ?      It knew because  it put a box up saying  you need to uninstall and reinstall  but it would'nt  download  .

Well that was Monday .

Tuesday  was Norton installing on my PC   for 3 hours .  Only for it to disappear next day . 

Wednesday  was the same , now its gone again   :C     

Question :  I have energized  Windows Defender  which was installed anyway .  Does anyone know if it is any good , am I safe ,   as Norton  only stays for a day .   

Just making the fourth attempt to get Norton back up & running .
