Division of circuits

Been asked to change an old domino board for an RCD. Situation is it's a terraced house, currently the upstairs downstairs and kitchen sockets work off one fuse and all lighting in the house works off the second. My question is In order to comply with regs Do I have to have to have kitchen sockets on one mcb, downstairs on another lighting on two others and so on, it would seem a bit overkill as the house has been safe like this for years and all this extra wiring would make it very costly for the customer. How would you more experienced guys divide this one up? Any help really appreciated

Mine has one lighting circuit and one ring plus few radials. I've just put lighting one side and sockets the other. Not much else you can do is there as your just changing the board. Hth

Thank you very much for those tips think I'll just rcbo it! Thanks for all the advise.

Just to round that off , the new Regs apply to new work , you can't apply them to existing work . So if the circuits don't divide up very well , you can only do what you can do. Fit the new board and the job has improved no end anyway.

I'd just like to add,

if we are so called tradesmen,

WTF is a domino board,?

thats jack in the pub said that,

bit like most of the rest of this thread too,

sorry,

:C

Steps it threw me for a nano second , but then my quick witted intelect kicked in and I thought , Dominos = spots = coloured spots on fuse carriers= a Wylex board . My case rests M'lud. :x
