evening all!

im gonna have to get a landline number for business and im thinking skype will be the way forward. however i have a load of questions i cant seem to find answers for, can you help???

1. can you call a normal skype number from a landline?

2. do you get a proper area code for your region?

3. have any of you used it on the iphone, and do you need the 'on line number' option to do it?

4. do you need a skype phone to listen to voicemail, or can you just do it on the net / via iphone.

5. anything else i need to think of?

dont know about skype, but i used to use sipgate. had a local land line number, normal landlines can phone it as a normal phone and you can dial out
cheers for the link andy, ive just been doing a load of reading up on skype and it seems to have more support for the iphone which is a big plus for me! i just need those few questions answered before i commit to anything.

[edit] the more i look into skype the more i dont want it! it would appear they have no customer service and its just too complicated to find stuff out. from all th searching it just seems people get to a point wheer they need help and just get stuffed because they have no customer service.

gonna have more of a look at sipgate i think. did you pay line rental?

My mum can cope with skype so it can't be that hard!

I've never used it myself.

Sometimes the call quality can be poor.

ok, sipgate it is, its perfect for me!

free number, no line rental, free voice mail, free voicemail retreval, voicemail emailed to you- free!, and if i want it a free 0845 number!

cheers andy!
