A favourite sales word  used at my supermarket is to add the word "Farmhouse"  to various foods .... the brown bread we buy is "Farmhouse" bread ....Ok  I'm not fooled .

But I hear today that  Tesco  have a branded food  called  Willow Farm ...doesn't it sound lovely ...you can almost picture the place  producing all this "Fresh" produce  can't you ?

Thing is , it doesn't exist , there is no WIllow Farm supplying them ........now to me thats  "Fresh",  " Devon" , "Country side" , " Home Grown" , " Farmhouse  Bull shine "

Its like me advertising ......  Installations using our  home made cable  and craftsman crafted  fuseboards  filled with fresh Devonshire Farmhouse RCBOs   nestling inside a streamlined enclosure  that will be the envy of all your friends .

Cynic

It actually works the reverse in our trade when you think about it. I'd like to think our materials come from a sterile, pristine, hi-tec, factory with the Made in Germany stamp.

Same with just about any brand you can buy in Currys. Most of it isn't what you think it is, it is all just Chinese tat with a badge on it, even if you recognise the badge you might still want to check the label carefully.
