Am trying to source an 16a E-line mcb or at least find which other manufacturer would be a suitable replacement?

Have searched the interweb but cannot find a 16a one.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Okay so with a bit more research on a computer rather than a stupid galaxy s2 I have narrowed it down to either chint, ge or mk

heres a pic....

Is E -line  the same as Europa Bluey?

I have a 16A type B Europa EUB1   which by the way, matches Crabtree, Steeple, Contactum & Hager.    Thats the live rail connection at the bottom .

Ah  you jumped in there Bluey ,   E-Line looks familiar , I can look in the van in the morning .

Its only the bottom terminal you need to bother about with most of them ,   thats without entering the latest complication of not mixing makes in an enclosure ....which is rapidly becoming an arrestable offence.

any measurement?

I have a CED which is the same as MAGNUSS (which I have too) and the same as wylex etc, inc EATON,

Im referring to busbar here, other dimensions vary on some of them, including the height of the protrusion out of the CU

but CPN is nothing like the usual suspects,

old GE has a slightly different busbar than WYLEX, but same profile,

SqD is different too

MEM is same profile as WYLEX but busbar of CED

MERLIN matches nowt,

Ive got a EUROPA 4p 16A contactor if its any use,

:C

Thanks for the replies :D I will try to answer all in one.

Trying to find a 16a E - line is proving difficult I may take another route...although...

It looks like the older GE stuff with black switches and has that stubby appearance unlike wylex/mk etc.?

May just hammer in a sector one I have been using as an ashtray... its not like anyones ever gonna see it

The mcb police can come get me    I am at least trying to find a suitable match.

How many different makes of mcb are there??? seriously! chances are one company will hit the fan and end up in the bargain bin, great for the guy who makes more profit & a pain in the ar£e for anyone trying to repair or modify at a later date headbang

I will give sparks a try, they are only 5mins walk from the office shame about the price though :(

Thanks for all the good advice re busbar fittings and differnt makes it may come in handy, I did look at the post (what fits what) but was unable to find any list??? maybe I'm just dumb and a little bit tired  :C

I don't need a 16a Europa contactor but Steps you will be my first call if I do ;)

Thanks again!!!@!@@

Bluey , I just found an E-Line   32A   in the van ,  it matches at least 6 other makes I tried it against , so just fit  Hager. C/tree/Steeple etc .    What can you do ,  OK it makes the board look like a mish-mash .............you can only do your best .

Searching for some of these obscure breakers gets to be a pain .    Great for the makers to suddenly announce the death penalty for mixing and matching  ,  but how much time are we expected to waste in the search for the unobtainable  ?

Its been done here before, but I just took a few pics of the breakers in a box in my office

The CPN, Control Gear & Protek are identical but much shorter than all the others.

I have 5 different designs of the old GE, the 3 on the left are all  similar except the coloured switch ones have smaller cage. The R/h one is a Series G and taller with a different busbar height. Its 10ka so I assume its for the 3 phase boards

. I don't have the latest Wylex one but that is the same fitting as the older NSB ones

I've seen a few threads about finding compatible circuit breakers. Maybe you should draw up a chart for all the popular and not so popular MCB's and list all the critical dimensions. Post it as a thread and others could add to it until you end up with a useful resource.

Thanks again guys for your input on this :)

Thank you Mr Evans!

Its good to have a definitive answer :) or at least a suitable replacement for these silly e-line breakers.

Only one slight issue in that both GE & Hager have just updated their breakers headbang   (bought orange switch GE less than a month ago).

They are pretty much the same I'm gonna hope for the best or get the hammer out!

looks very similar to Control Gear breakers.
There is mention of e-line's in some old GE control gear literature and they are very similar to the older style GE's.

Thanks also for the pic's splipper maybe instead of a list we could come up with a huge panoramic picture of all older / obscure mcbs :innocent

Will mark thread as solved.

Thanks again :D
