Hi,

If flats are upgraded to 16th ed, is it okay for each flat's earthing running solely off the conduit running down to the fuse head, or must each flat now have a separate earthing cable fed from the incoming supply earthbar (TNS)?

(The present Ze is fine in each flat)

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

where is the incomer?

what size is it?

what size is the sub-main to each flat?

what size is the conduit and what material is it made from?

and why worry about upgrading to 16th edition?

more info required.

regards, Albert, :)

Hi,

The incoming phase and neutral are 25mm to the meters; the conduit's 32mm - Steel;

the incomer's on the ground floor of the flats.

Each old CCU's got a 16mm coming into it, but god knows where that goes to - definitely not visible at the incomer down below.

Zs values are fine, though.

For some reason they've requested it to 16th Ed. - appears to be the remains of an old contract for upgrading housing association home/flats.

Cheers.

You normally find 16mm feeds to flats, and if there in a 25mm conduit the CSA of that is fine as the earth
would agree with that,

and as long as each flat has its own main bond then no probs,

need to hurry tho,

17th in 2weeks.!
